Overview

Beautifully modern in its design and peaceful, natural, and classic in its woodland surroundings, this contemporary home in Government Camp is a Mt. Hood escape like no other. Summer or winter, you'll be a matter of steps from beautiful trails, gear shops and rentals, restaurants, and aprĆØs-ski spots. This home sits among the evergreens on the north side of town, with the Glade Trail accessible just up the road. Whether you spend your days skiing, snowboarding, or hiking, you'll love coming home to an open and airy living space that awaits upstairs on the top floor. This great room features lofty, exposed-beam ceilings, plentiful and generous windows that frame the forest, and a layout that brings together the kitchen, the dining room, and the living room. The sleek kitchen features upscale appliances (including a double-drawer refrigerator, a beverage cooler, and a dishwasher), streamlined cabinetry, and seating at both a windowside breakfast bar and a modern dining table. You can also grill and dine outside on the deck in the fresh alpine air. After dinner each evening, you'll have your choice of lounge spaces - you can curl up for a movie on the leather sofa in the living room or sip hot cocoa on the deck in the warmth of the fire table. There's even a studio space on the ground floor with its own sofabed, flatscreen TV, and kitchenette for drinks and popcorn. When it's time to turn in, you'll find two bedrooms in addition to the studio, each with its own TV to lull you to sleep. Things to Know Full kitchen PERMIT ID#STR-457-12

The Baernhaus home is exactly as described and MORE! Beautifully modern, spacious, clean and well stocked. Perfectly located a couple blocks behind the town center in a quiet neighborhood. Check in/out was easy. The home was bright, comfortable and having been built so high up it was nice being tucked up high in the trees. Yes there are lots of stairs, but we embraced the fact we could get a mini workout in each time we moved between floors. We did not use the studio on the ground floor but both bedrooms on the second floor were roomy with cozy bed linens. The washer and dryer worked great and although there was no AC the home stayed cool and comfortable, even on the top floor where the huge ceiling fan kept air moving. The kitchen is a cook's dream, but the outside deck on the top floor became our favorite spot to enjoy morning coffee, relax, sketch/draw the beautiful surroundings and grill out after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The added bonus was the small creek out back that lulled us to sleep at night and drowned out all the noises during the day. We also enjoyed watching and listening to the mischievous ravens. Located so close to all the spectacular scenery and outdoor activities around Mt Hood, having stayed at the Baernhaus made our visit that much more charming. Thank you for opening your beautiful home. Can't wait to return!!

This modern home is well furnished, light and bright, with a nice, open, kitchen, living room, and deck area. The large windows and views make you feel like you are living in a very, comfortable treehouse. The kitchen is also well stocked with appliances (rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker, baking pans, etc.) and other basics such as: spices, oils, coffee, tea, etc., making it easy for those that enjoy cooking to make a great meal away from home (without having to buy every single ingredient). We'd stay here again for both comfort and convenience.

Excellent property tucked into the trees with a beautiful stream in back of the home. The house was well-appointed and comfortable. We enjoy cooking, and the gas grill on the deck and well-stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. Vacasa property management team was responsive to questions, and it was easy to check in and out. My daughter and I stayed here for a week while she participated in a summer ski racing camp at Mt. Hood, and it was absolutely perfect.

Very nice location in relationship to Mount Hood. The house was very clean and relatively new, but the layout was unusual. You have to be ready to climb some stairs. Also, no closet space available so you have to live out of your suitcase for a few days.
