Reserve Dunes months ahead
Bandon Dunes requires reservations months in advance, especially June through September. -
Arrive at Face Rock 30 minutes to sunset
Face Rock at sunset is a must. Arrive 30 minutes before to claim a good photo spot. -
Take a pit stop on the drive from Portland
The drive from Portland is five hours. Break it up with lunch in Florence or Reedsport. -
Indulge in a sweet treat
Cranberry Sweets in Old Town is a free sample paradise. Budget 20 minutes minimum. -
Aim for better weather
South coast weather is milder year-round than the north coast. Spring and fall can be surprisingly pleasant. -
