Local tips
A few pointers from our on-the-ground team.
-
Pick your rental wisely
The Village is where things stay lively, while the resort side feels quieter, has golf and SHARC. Choose your stay based on the pace youāre after. -
Double check your SHARC access
Not every rental includes SHARC wristbands automatically and summer weeks book up fast. Itās worth confirming before you arrive. -
Skip the car as much as possible
With more than 40 miles of bike paths running through Sunriver, most days are easier on two wheels than four. -
Deer donāt follow traffic laws
Deer are everywhere, especially around dusk. Slow down to about 25 mph, stay alert, and donāt be surprised if one casually crosses your path. -
Donāt let the elevation sneak up on you
At 4,100 feet, sunburn and mild altitude fatigue can surprise guests. Water and sunscreen go a long way here. -
Mosquitoes love the river too
Near marshes and river trails, summer evenings can get buggy fast. Bring repellent if sunset walks are on the agenda.
