Home in Port St. Joe, Florida

While you’re there

Check out some of our favorite parts of Forgotten Coast. Sourced from our local teams who live there.

Bayside Coffee Co.

The perfect pick-me-up for exploring the Forgotten Coast—this Eastpoint roastery proves good things come in small batches.

Franklin Cafe & Parlor Bar

Southern breakfast done right—biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, bagels piled with smoked salmon, and a setting as inviting as the food.

Indian Pass Raw Bar

A local favorite with a laid-back vibe and fresh Gulf seafood. Grab a drink from the cooler, settle in, and enjoy the kind of easygoing meal where strangers become friends.

Oyster City Brewing Company

Brewing Gulf Coast tales in a glass since 2014, where every beer is shaped by the same waters that shaped this storied town.

FatDaddy's Smokehouse & Grill

Nestled along the coastline of Saint George Sound right off scenic Highway 98, this rustic smokehouse serves up hearty barbecue and Southern hospitality to locals and travelers alike.

Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe

What started as a tiny beach stand is now St. George Island's go-to for fresh local seafood—where owner George might be cutting your catch in the kitchen or out on the bay catching tomorrow's special.

Crooked River Grill

A hidden gem serving elevated takes on local shrimp and steaks, seriously generous cocktails, and golf course views that'll have you ordering another round.

Owl Cafe

A downtown Apalachicola institution since 1900, dishing out warm hospitality and Forgotten Coast favorites. Come for the fried oysters, stay for the nostalgia (and definitely the crab dip).

St. Joe Bay Buffer Preserve

A vital preserve for the pine flatwoods, coastal scrub, marsh, and tidal flats that keep St. Joseph Bay pristine—and its famous seagrass beds and marine life thriving.

Amazing place to stay!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found the location to be one of the property’s biggest strengths. The neighborhood was lovely, and it was an easy walk or quick drive to the beach, pool, pizza, and ice cream, which made it very convenient for our group. The house itself was mostly clean upon arrival, although we did find a couple of items left behind by previous guests. We also experienced an ant problem inside the home, with ants getting into luggage, bedding, and towels. To their credit, the management company responded promptly and sent pest control to address the issue.A few aspects of the listing did not match our expectations. The yard was primarily weeds, and we were unable to locate the advertised sport court. Additionally, the kitchen was not as well stocked as most vacation rentals we’ve stayed in. Basic items such as a can/bottle opener, scissors, and adequate kitchen knives were missing.Despite these issues, the location and neighborhood amenities made for an enjoyable stay, and with a few improvements, this property could provide an even better guest experience.

Avari response:

Thank you, Kelcie, for sharing your thoughts about your stay with us. We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed the lovely neighborhood and the convenience of being close to the beach, pool, and local treats. It’s wonderful to know that the location added to your experience.

We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness and the items left behind. That shouldn’t have happened, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience it caused. We’re also grateful for your understanding as our team promptly addressed the ant issue. Your comfort is our priority, and we’re committed to ensuring that our homes are well-maintained.

We take your comments about the yard and kitchen inventory seriously. We want to provide a space that meets all your expectations, and we’ll be reviewing these details to enhance the experience for future guests.

Thank you for your insights, and we hope to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future.
