Cozy and warm, this Northstar vacation condo with mountain views is the perfect place to spend time with your nearest and dearest. Shared amenities offer plenty to do, and it's not far to excellent skiing. The Village at Northstar is a luxury resort near Truckee. A free shuttle will pick you up at the condo building and bring you to the rec center, golf, or skiing (0.5 miles away). If you prefer, though, feel free to bring a car! Please note that in winter, 4WD may be needed. The wooden walls and modern furnishings make this studio a cheerful, friendly place to spend time. Sliding doors lead out to a little balcony where you can sip a glass of wine while you watch the sun set over the mountains. A double-size Murphy bed pulls down from the wall, and can be put back up during the day for more living space. There's also a futon, so this studio can accommodate up to four guests. On a chilly winter evening, spend time playing board games, or watch a movie on Netflix on cable while the fire keeps you toasty. If you're keeping up on work while you're away, log onto the WiFi. Prepare delicious meals in the kitchen and dine together at the dining table. There's a dishwasher, so cleanup goes fast. Enjoy access to the Northstar recreation center amenities, which include tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, a sauna, a hot tub, a seasonal lap pool, and an open grill area next to a beautiful creek surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen trees. (Site rentals include the use of three picnic tables and up to two gas BBQ grills with grilling utensils.) There is a $10 daily fee per person for use of the facilities. The Cross Country, Telemark + Snowshoe Center offers tons of outdoor fun. Go downhill or Nordic skiing or snowshoeing. If you didn't bring gear, don't worry - you can rent it here. THINGS TO KNOW

It's technically not in Northstar village, but it's just on the other side of the parking lot from it. You can get a shuttle to the village, but it's actually faster to walk up a little hill (might not be an option if there's too much snow)

We arrived at the unit for our 4pm check in and the entry code did not work. We called Vacasa and waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes while they figured out how to get us in. Then, the heater kept defaulting to 55° and the instructions were for a completely different thermostat. We called Vacasa and they instructed us how to fix it. Unfortunately it did not work, so the first night we had to get up twice to reset the thermostat. There are space heaters, but they did not provide enough heat to be comfortable. Then, the dishwasher didn’t work. Again, I called Vacasa to let them know it sounded like it was starting, but the it would stop and begin beeping. They sent over a maintenance worker while we were out, who apparently did not get all the information and simply came in started the dishwasher and left. He then reported that there was not a problem with the dishwasher. I called back to report the dishwasher had not been fixed and due to the multiple issues, we would be checking out a day early. I requested a refund for the third night. I was told there were no issues with the place - that maintenance reported that everything was fine and that we would not be getting a refund. Talk about gaslighting! If I were the owner of this place, I would find a better rental company.
