Great stay except for the roaches

It was conveniently located

Roaches.
I’m not from Florida so I don’t know if this is normal, but we seen some inside the property.

Host was incredibly responsive to my questions and immediately sent someone to fix the one issue we had that was minor. The house is steps from the beach and was centrally located to the necessities. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location of this Airbnb was great and within perfect walking distance to the beach, which we really appreciated. However, our stay had issues that made us uncomfortable.

When we first arrived, there was confusion with the door code because we were sent a “ready” text by mistake due to a system error.
During our stay, we found a roach in the bathroom and bugs in the pool. We also found two bugs on the bed, and while we couldn’t confirm what they were, it was concerning enough to impact our comfort level.

We also noticed the stairs leading to the top floor were rusty, which didn’t feel very safe. Another uncomfortable moment was when the pool maintenance worker came directly into the pool area while we were using it without much notice.

I will say the staff was very respectful and communicated quickly whenever we reached out, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, good communication didn’t make up for the condition of the property and the cleanliness concerns. We left 2 days early.

I have never left a negative about anything before, but…
This was a family trip with 4 kids and the kitchen was not functional with a broken faucet, and top dishwasher water dispenser broken off. It took two people to operate the sink safely. Faucet fell repeatedly if you tried to put it back together, bruised my hand. Cooking was extremely difficult because clean up was so difficult.
I contacted host within 3 hrs of check in when we first saw the broken sink. I sent photos and video. >12 hrs later I had still not heard back from anyone. I then spent 30 mins on hold to get through to someone and was assured someone would come out to address it. Our entire 3 night stay came and went without anyone coming. I touched base and followed up multiple times without any results. I understand things break, my problem is with the terrible lack of response/intervention.
Additionally, there are roaches, severely water-damaged floors, refused to heat the pool even though it’s ‘offered’ at no add. $
