The worst house on Destin shoreline. No maintenance or cleanliness whatsoever. It was an extremely disappointing vacatio

It was a spacious home for our family’s stay

First of all we were given the incorrect gate code and couldn’t access the gate once we arrived to Emerald shores. Second of all the house was extremely dirty. The floors weren’t mopped or swept, the tables had good build up left on the tops, the fridge had damaged shelves, the dryer didn’t work properly to dry clothing. There was a broom with no dust pan and all of the dishes had to be washed before use due to food and drink residue. Trash was found under living room couches and beds upstairs. The windows in all rooms were streaked. The blinds on upstairs windows didn’t work to raise. The stairs leading to the top floor were extremely damaged and were almost unsafe to walk on. Walls leading up the stairs had scuff marks. Property claimed to be child friendly but had no baby gate for the stairs and there was broken tile on the front porch which my child tripped over and cut her knee. The outdoor trash cans were filled to the top the day we got there and never got emptied. The lights on the stairwell flickered and were difficult to leave on to use at night. We were given a citation for hanging clothes to dry on the porch due to the dryer not working properly. In the description of the rental there are no rules stating you can’t hang clothes from the porch. This house advertised as beach front which is false because it’s across a main highway and behind a hotel which was about a 5 minute walk from the house to the beach. Having to purchase wristbands bands was a drawback considering the price paid for the house, it should have been included. Last but not least there were roach bugs in the fridge and kitchen. This house needs a major deep clean and an exterminator to fumigate. My family and I were highly disappointed with the cleanliness and maintenance of this house. I wouldn’t even give it .5 star rating. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I will truly endeavor to never have to use Avari again for a vacation stay.

AVARI!!!!! This was the 2nd time in 2 trips that Avari was awful. Initially, the code we were given did not work. After actually getting a call through to Avari, we were able to enter, as we suspect the code for us was entered at that time. We did not have internet the entire trip. We talked to a very nice lady at Avari, Tina, who made several calls to try to get someone to contact us about the internet. No one ever contacted us, so no TV the entire trip. In our other recent trip with Avari, we arrived at the house and the code did not work. Although I was on hold with Avari for hours and their terrible hold music, no one ever answered. With assistance through Booking.com agent, we were sent another code. After 4+ hours, we were trying that code when Avari cancelled our reservation altogether. Because it was a Saturday night at the coast and we were stranded, we had to book a hotel for 2 nights instead of the water access property we had booked for 3 nights. Avari never contacted us that time. No compensation, no apology, nothing.
