A Golden Bean–awarded, small-batch specialty coffee roaster in the Historic District of Downtown Fort Walton Beach that’s been around for over 20 years.

Florida Place Food Trucks

This family-owned spot serves up good vibes with every açaí bowl, fresh sandwich, and perfectly brewed coffee—fuel for your Gulf Coast adventures.

The Gulf

Farm-to-table meets dock-to-dish at this seaside gem where daily-changing menus, local oysters, and communal tables create the kind of waterfront experience that keeps guests coming back season after season.

Stewby's Seafood Shanty

This family-run favorite serves fresh Gulf seafood and genuine Southern warmth across four locations, where you’re encouraged to grab a bench and stay awhile.

AJ's Oyster Shanty

What started in 1984 as a humble oyster-shucking spot has grown into an Emerald Coast institution, now spanning four locations known for legendary Gulf seafood, cold beer, live music, and easygoing harbor vibes.

Rockin Tacos

Gulf views meet Mexican flavor at this elevated cantina, where a house DJ spins, margaritas flow, and the gator tacos are so good they’ve caught the attention of Travel Channel and Forbes.

FUBAR Pizza

Born on the bay of Okaloosa Island, this locally owned waterfront hangout serves up almost-famous pies, live sports, and family-friendly arcade fun, welcoming guests by land or by boat.

Big Kahuna’s

The only thing missing was better furniture on the patio. For those of us that get to frequent the beach often, we want to be able to sit outside and take in the views while drinking our coffee, eating lunch or enjoying an afternoon beverage.

Avari response:

We appreciate your feedback, Jennifer. It sounds like you truly enjoyed the beautiful views from the patio, and we completely understand the importance of having comfortable furniture to enhance that experience. Relaxing outside with a coffee or an afternoon drink is one of the best parts of a beach getaway. We’re always looking for ways to improve our guests' experiences, and your suggestion will certainly be taken into consideration. We hope to welcome you back soon for another relaxing stay at our Gulf front home!

Everything was very clean. Living room could use more seating or at least an ottoman for reclining. There were a few things in need of repair, such as the curtain rod that was disconnected from the wall and the kitchen faucet aerator that kept falling off. In fairness, we didn’t call to report these things. So we can’t speak to whether they would have been fixed. We’re giving it a 4 instead of a 5 only because other Vrbo’s we’ve rented had more “extras” and conveniences (snacks, coffee filters, games/beach toys/books), and this one did not. Admittedly, our expectations may be set a little high. Overall it was a nice, convenient, clean place to enjoy the beach!

Avari response:

Thank you, Erin, for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re so glad to hear that you found everything clean and enjoyed the convenience of our location. We truly appreciate your feedback about the living room seating and the repairs needed. It’s important to us that our guests feel comfortable and at home, and we’re sorry to hear that we fell short in those areas.

We understand that little extras can make a stay feel even more special, and we’re always looking for ways to enhance our guests' experiences. Your insights will help us improve for future stays. We hope you’ll consider returning to enjoy the beach again with us, and we’ll strive to make your next visit even better.
