Between this bedroom, the daybed in the loft, and the sofa bed in the living room, this home can accommodate everyone comfortably. Rhododendron, a small town about an hour east of Portland, lies in a heavily-wooded, beautiful area along the river. On the other side of the highway is Welches, where you can play golf or stock up on groceries at the Thriftway. Just a few miles away, you'll find excellent mountain biking on the Sandy Ridge Trail. Plus, there are a plethora of hiking options, as well as good river fishing. And if your early-morning donut and coffee routine is a must-have, Sandy (under a 20-mile drive west) has a great donut shop, as well as many larger stores and restaurants. Of course, Mt. Hood waits just to the east of this vacation home, and a nearly 21-mile drive will get you to Timberline Lodge, where you can enjoy amazing skiing and snowboarding, or just building snow sculptures. However, you may just want to sit in your cozy rental home and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace while listening to the roar of the river.
