Overview

The Heceta House vacation rental is a lovely and comfortable home within walking distance to Heceta Beach. The top level of this house is a 'surf shack' style room, where you can sit and read the day away and watch the ocean.

There is a wonderfully whimsical room for children with an undersea mural painted on the wall and a bunk bed in the shape of a boat. And two additional bedrooms both with queen beds. Relax in the upstairs master suite which has claw foot tub and second TV/DVD. Open the windows and let the sounds of the sea rock you to sleep.

Sit and enjoy the company of family and friends next to the fireplace, enjoy walks to the beach, or come visit the quaint shops and restaurants in Old Town Florence.

Florence draws folks from all over for its lakes, mini-golf, world renowned golf course, horse-back riding, hiking, quaint downtown, tide pools, dunes and whale watching.

The Heceta House is the perfect place to come enjoy the feel of being at the beach.

The Fisherman's Cottage is a separate studio rental on the same property that can sleep an additional 2 people with the new double bed. Soothing colors and reclaimed wood provide the perfect escape for a romantic weekend or beachside solitude. The cottage is just steps to the beach and it is equipped with TV/DVD microwave, mini-fridge and eating area.

Home in Florence, Oregon

While you’re there

Check out some of our favorite parts of Florence. Sourced from our local teams who live there.

Waterfront Depot

Urbane riverside bistro. Florence’s most celebrated dinner. Crab-crusted halibut and a historic depot building with Siuslaw River views.

Mo's Seafood & Chowder

Waterfront staple in Old Town. Have a plate of cod fish and chips or bowl of chowder as you watch fishing boats pass and sea lions play.

Nosh Eatery

Creative, chef-driven menu with rotating seasonal dishes. The town’s more adventurous dinner pick. Has vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free options.

1285 Restobar

Quaint trattoria with all-Italian fare that has something for everyone. The perfect mix of sophistication and warm family-friendly atmosphere.

Coffee Roasters of Florence

“The best roast on the coast.” Locally owned roastery with excellent espresso and a cozy Old Town location.

Little Brown Hen Café

Local favorite. Small, friendly, and always busy. Biscuits and gravy are the must-order.

Homegrown Public House

Farm-to-table brewpub in a hip, industrial space with great beer and a vibrant dinner scene.

Krab Kettle

Modest, small, family-owned seafood shack serving fresh-caught crab and fish and chips right on the Old Town boardwalk.

Heceta Head Lighthouse

One of the most photographed lighthouses on the West Coast. Trail access leads to the iconic light station itself.

June 2026

Great rough cabin feel, only 4 of us stayed, I hardly left, great feel. Loved the deck, sound of the ocean and trees! Hottub is older and leaks a little, but great action! We loved our stay, we would do it again!! Thanks!

If you’ve looked at those beautiful old weathered shake beach houses with white trim, and wondered what they feel like inside, this is your home. It’s original, old, and quirky; very different from the pristine cookie-cutter vacation houses. We enjoy the modern ones too, but this house, filled with ships, oars, a stone fireplace, and a captain’s lookout on the 3rd floor has real character, and we loved it. The kitchen is not fully stocked, but we found it sufficient and there’s a bbq on the porch (and a big hot tub). The kids room on the second floor has sleeping booths and wonderful murals on the walls and floor. There’s even an even quirkier fisherman’s cottage, complete with a tiny bathroom. It’s a short walk to the beach, or you can drive around the block to its parking lot.

We loved the hot tub, the house has a lived in homey feel to it with lots of character, and the walking distance to a really beautiful beach.

Quiet neighborhood and short walk to the beach. the hot tub is great place to relax after the days adventures, nicely surrounded by coastal trees that act as wind block and provide privacy. having hot water available at the outside shower is fantastic, made washing off the sand comfortable and easy. My group found it very comfortable for our visit to the Florence area.
