While you’re there

Check out some of our favorite parts of St. George Island. Sourced from our local teams who live there.

Bayside Coffee Co.

The perfect pick-me-up for exploring the Forgotten Coast—this Eastpoint roastery proves good things come in small batches.

Franklin Cafe & Parlor Bar

Southern breakfast done right—biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, bagels piled with smoked salmon, and a setting as inviting as the food.

Indian Pass Raw Bar

A local favorite with a laid-back vibe and fresh Gulf seafood. Grab a drink from the cooler, settle in, and enjoy the kind of easygoing meal where strangers become friends.

Oyster City Brewing Company

Brewing Gulf Coast tales in a glass since 2014, where every beer is shaped by the same waters that shaped this storied town.

FatDaddy's Smokehouse & Grill

Nestled along the coastline of Saint George Sound right off scenic Highway 98, this rustic smokehouse serves up hearty barbecue and Southern hospitality to locals and travelers alike.

Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe

What started as a tiny beach stand is now St. George Island's go-to for fresh local seafood—where owner George might be cutting your catch in the kitchen or out on the bay catching tomorrow's special.

Crooked River Grill

A hidden gem serving elevated takes on local shrimp and steaks, seriously generous cocktails, and golf course views that'll have you ordering another round.

Owl Cafe

A downtown Apalachicola institution since 1900, dishing out warm hospitality and Forgotten Coast favorites. Come for the fried oysters, stay for the nostalgia (and definitely the crab dip).

St. Joe Bay Buffer Preserve

A vital preserve for the pine flatwoods, coastal scrub, marsh, and tidal flats that keep St. Joseph Bay pristine—and its famous seagrass beds and marine life thriving.

October 2026

This was our 3rd time staying at this complex on St. George Island. Out of the three, this place was the cleanest and had the best views! We love the complex due to its awesome beach and closeness to the state park. This unit was an added bonus as we were able to see the ocean out the sliding glass doors as we whipped up pancakes in the kitchen! Everything was very clean and the unit had games, puzzles, and movies. Just an FYI - some units include beach toys/chairs, but this one did not.

I liked the location. After stripping down the bed i was sick. The wet carpet up the staircase was

There was no breakfast. I like the location. The mattress was nasty with large human pee rings. The carpet was soaking wet. I had to wear sandles to walk on it.

Wet carpet, nasty mattress, no breakfast. I was told umbrellas, golf carts came with the rental. Also kyakes. Overall, the location was fine. I would go back with bedbug spray or a new mattress. Even though the mattress was comfortable. Exspensive for a few days.

Avari response:

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, W. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the location, but we’re truly sorry to learn about the issues you faced during your stay. It’s disappointing to hear that the mattress and wet carpet did not meet the standards we strive for. That shouldn’t have happened, and we take your feedback seriously.

We appreciate your comments about the amenities, and we’re committed to ensuring that our properties are well-maintained and comfortable for our guests. Your insights will help us improve, and we’ll be addressing these concerns with our team to prevent similar situations in the future.

We genuinely value your feedback and would love the opportunity to provide you with a better experience next time. Thank you for considering a return visit, and we hope to welcome you back under improved circumstances.
