We’ve stayed in several places on the island and this was the best by far. The beach in this neighborhood is perfect. Yes it is a long walk to the boardwalk, but it’s no longer than the walk from one of the condos in the middle of the isle. The beach itself is perfect, with plenty of space if you’re willing to walk a few yards. The house is wonderful and it was perfectly clean when we arrived. The furniture and amenities are older and not fancy, but they work just fine for a beach house. My kids loved the pool and I loved the front porch. It was perfect for a cup of coffee with a view of the beach. Things you should know— Bring your own hairdryer (none provided) Classic drip coffee maker and a keurig. Bring your own basket style filters and/or k-cups. Vacasa provides a starter pack of enough laundry and dish detergent, paper towels, and toilet paper to get you through the first day but since this rental can only do 1 week+ you will need to bring your own supply of all of those to last the whole week. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, utensils etc. The sunroom has its own ac unit. Turn that on the second you arrive so that it will be cool by the next day. There is a smart tv in every room so don’t forget to sign out of all of your accounts before you leave! There were several accounts still signed in on Disney+ etc.

This is an amazing stay if you would like privacy, quiet, and supporting local! This house was very clean and allowed our 2 small dogs. The pool and beach is a scenic short stroll from the house and both are secluded away from the public in a gated community. Everything on the island is “mom and pop” ran so NOT the commercial chains from other beach stays we have experienced. Fishing was a blast from both the beach and pier. The wildlife is beautiful and could watch for hours. The neighborhood locals are very kind and friendly and the island is a hidden gem from the fast paced touristy vibe! We wouldn’t change anything!!

We had a fantastic stay at Turtle Cove. The home had everything that we needed and more. We loved having the ability to bring our dog on vacation with us! The location was absolutely perfect as it was in a very nice gated community and we felt that it was nice and private. We hope to come stay again!

The house was great for our family, but definitely felt like it has been a rental for a long time and could do with some new beds, budding, and cookware.
