Overview

Just North of Brookings you'll find The Ocean Pear, a coastal cabin part of Whaleshead Resort. A lovely landing point for your PNW adventures, this cabin is located mere minutes away from Whales Head Beach, the Samuel Boardman trails, and even California's giant redwoods. Fishermen will love the area's plethora of rivers, including the Smith, Chetco, Winchuck, Rogue, Elk, and Sixes. The entire family will appreciate the area's delicious dining and vibrant shopping options.

Inside, enjoy a variety of updated amenities such as a brand-new Smart TV, fast Wi-Fi, a telescope, and a well-equipped kitchen. The cabin's bedroom is cozy and cool thanks to partial air-conditioning. When additional sleeping arrangements are needed, there is a double futon in the living room.

Outside, the perks continue in the form of a private hot tub and gas grill!

House Rules
Check-in time: 4:00 PM.
Check-out time: 10:00 AM.
All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
Pets are not allowed at this vacation rental.

There are many wonderful things about this little Airbnb such as the ocean views, locational proximity to hiking and beach access, proximity to Brookings, well stocked kitchen facilities and cooking utensils, and a light and bright interior ambiance, and many small details such as an iron and beach towels. However, the bed is a bunch of mismatched foam layers on a mattress that is too big for the base and needs to be replaced with a good mattress that fits the base, the toilet runs incessantly wasting water and disturbing sleep, and the neighbors motion censor light comes on the minute you step onto the deck to use the hot tub. This may not be something they could change, but a privacy screen would do the trick. Based on this, I would probably not stay here again as there are many Airbnbs to chose from on the Oregon Coast, but I did appreciate the great communication with the management.

Quite comfortable. Kitchen well-supplied, but no dishwasher. Hot tub was great and clean. Good location close to park trails. Even has a bakery on resort property.

Smaller than expected, but still was very nice. Close enough to Brookings and a great location to explore the coast from by car. Parking threw us off at first but we got used to it and it wound up being reasonable enough. Amazing view of Whale’s Head rocks. It’s good and clean and comfortable but don’t expect the space most are used to.
