This cabin was perfect for wanting a quite forest retreat. The deck was perfect for morning coffee to watch the birds and feel the sun move in. When I was looking at the listing I was unsure what the 2nd bedroom looked like. It was a second unit detached from the cabin called the annex, it was a large bedroom with a private full bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised and both queen beds were very comfortable. The musty smell other reviews mentioned were not bad or a concern for us, this area is very humid and to be expected if you are familiar with the climate. The smell is not the house but the moisture from the atmosphere. The only thing to note is that the current stove we had did not warm up fast and may want to ask if this was replaced or fixed if you are planning to cook a lot. We let the managers know and said they were going to look into it. They were very responsive and helpful. The laundry is in a separate building right up the hill, pay through an app. We loved our stay!

A wonderful gem!

Location, comfort, ambiance and a hot tub! Also dog friendly!

Hard to locate, at first

Avari response:

We're so glad you found our cabin to be a wonderful gem, Gregory! The combination of location, comfort, and ambiance really does create a special atmosphere, and we're thrilled you enjoyed the hot tub and the fact that we welcome furry friends.

We understand that finding the cabin can be a bit tricky at first, and we appreciate your patience with that. If you ever decide to visit again, we’d be happy to provide more detailed directions to make your arrival smoother.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and we hope to see you and your pup back for another relaxing getaway soon!

Cute little charming place in a beautiful setting among the trees. It is situated in a quiet community and although neighbors are close it was private. The hot tub was really nice and the deck was great. We didn't realize the second bedroom was detached from the main house and although fine for us someone with small children would probably want to know this before booking. Also some directions to the unit itself would be helpful in the check in process. Whaleshead beach is just across the street and very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Avari response:

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay, Julie! It sounds like you really appreciated the charm of our cabin and the beautiful tree-lined setting. The hot tub and deck are perfect spots to unwind, and we’re happy to hear you made the most of them.

Thank you for your feedback about the detached second bedroom and the check-in directions. We want to ensure every guest feels fully informed, especially families with small children, so we’ll definitely take your suggestions to heart.

Whaleshead Beach is indeed a gem, and we’re thrilled you got to experience it. We would love to welcome you back for another relaxing getaway in the future!

Bill and Eva Marie's "Noble Mobile" was a delight overall. All advertised amenities were present and functioning, the oven is slow to warm and barely works; seems like a legitimate safety concern. The porch connecting the main bedroom and living area to the annex bedroom hadn't been swept in days and we had to sweep it ourselves, but this is more of an Avari property management issue. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Both units had a discernable musty odor to them, but that's to be expected for a forested cabin on the coast. It wasn't too bad after airing out the units for a time. Besides the sketchy oven and the dirty porch, this property was a beautiful base camp. The porch overlooks an opening in the forest down towards the adjacent creek. Lounging in the hot tub looking out at the trees was a major highlight that made up for other minor inconveniences. Hoping this review will allow others to book with eyes wide open, if you're sensitive to scents, might not be a good fit for you.
