Bachelor is only 20 miles away, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails are abundant in the nearby national forest lands. Sunriver Stables offers horse-pulled sleigh rides in Victorian-style sleighs along the scenic and snowy Deschutes River between Thanksgiving and February. The house itself is cute and in a great location. It is dated and the bedding could be refreshed and the kitchen cookware and other amenities in the kitchen could be updated. The decks are nice to utilize and having the fans were necessary due to no A/C in the house, but it cooled down pretty well at night.

Comfortable and no problems except it gets very uncomfortable when the weather is hot because of lack of A/C; (82 degrees downstairs in mid-afternoon and not cooled off until overnight). Box fans provided. Would love staying here anytime except in the summer. When we stayed in mid-July the dryer had a sign it was out of order and was not fixed upon departure. Unhappy we were not notified of this and offered a discount on the rental fee. We dried clothes on the deck. The wood-burning fire is still out of order as a previous reviewer stated but it will be a number of weeks before heating would be required, so no problem for us. Otherwise, very happy with this home. Would be very comfortable and fill all our needs if we stayed during cooler weather. Great location!
