Overview

Make this bright and spacious home your next beach retreat! License to Chill, a four-bedroom house located on the sandy white beaches of Dauphin Island. With beach access directly behind the house and a partially covered and comfortably furnished deck overlooking the Gulf, this home is ready for hosting a retreat to the beach. All one floor, the home features the master bedroom on one side of the house (with its own en suite bathroom) next to the bedroom featuring two double beds. Across the living room, guests can enjoy two more bedrooms with king beds - one has an en suite bathroom while the other has a bathroom right next door.

What's nearby:
Enjoy a little vitamin D and splash in the Gulf of Mexico just steps behind the house. Take a day and take a ride on the ferry( just under six miles away) and head over to Fort Morgan and check out the Historic Site where you can find historical exhibits, nature areas, a boat launch, picnic area, and beaches for visitors to enjoy. The home is also within four miles of many delicious restaurants like Islanders, Reel Deal BBQ, and Dority's Bar & Grill!

Great house with ample cooking needs. Access to beach areas very easy and large deck and lots of seating was inviting. The only issue we had with the house was the a/c. It didn’t cool below 76 day or night. Ceiling fans were a help. Fridge needs attention. Ice maker didn’t work No major issues at all. I would select this one again

Location! Location! Location! You can't beat the location! The house was decorated so nicely and had a great layout between the bedrooms and common areas. The beach was literally at the bottom of the front steps and having an outdoor shower to rinse off at the end of the day was great. The beds and pillows were so much more comfortable that other rental properties we've stayed in and the kitchen was well stocked as far as plates, cups, and utensils, but there were no convenience-type things you often find leftover in rentals like salt and pepper or cooking spray. There also was no can opener, which made cooking challenging until we got one. A couple of things to note- the dishwasher is old, doesn't work well, and has mildew in the door, so we hand washed most of our dishes. The ice maker in the freezer barely works, so we ended up having to buy ice. Lastly, the front 2 bedrooms only have white, sheer curtains covering the wall-sized sliding glass doors, so you can see right through them and so can the sun at the crack of dawn! Other than those few things, we loved the house and would book again- we really enjoyed our time there!

The beach house was beautiful and situated right on the beach as advertised. We loved just chilling on the beach and on the deck watching and listening to the waves. The house was clean and well taken care of. And the beach was not overly crowded like the more touristy destinations. All made for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend.

The home itself was beautiful and the oceanfront views were absolutely amazing. The location was great, and we truly enjoyed being right on the beach with our family.

However, there were several issues during our stay that were disappointing, especially for a beach property. Shortly after arrival, we were informed that the dryer was not working. With children and being directly on the beach, having a functioning dryer is really a necessity. Unfortunately, the icemaker and toaster also did not work during our stay.

In addition, there were dirty, moldy dishes still sitting in the dishwasher upon arrival, and many of the towels appeared stained, which made the cleanliness feel below expectations.

Overall, the home and views were beautiful, but the maintenance and housekeeping issues took away from what could have been a much better experience.
