March 2025

This house was the perfect spot for us to stay for a month in Tahoe to enjoy ski season. It was in a cozy neighborhood, walking distance to Steamers and the Hangar, a couple of our favorite bars, and just a few minute drive to other essentials in South Lake.

The house itself was cozy, warm, and just spacious enough. It came with most cooking utensils, but no other essentials (e.g., no spices, olive oil, etc.), so I'd note to bring those. Wifi was good.

Check-in was easy enough. I had some confusion regarding the snow removal situation, but guest services was quick to answer my questions.

The only issue we ran into was a strange noise coming from the furnace. But, again, guest services was quick to help and a maintenance guy was able to come and fix the issue in less than 24 hours (needed to clean the furnace filter).

Overall, it was a wonderful stay! I will cherish my fond memories of reading by the fireplace and our overall relaxing stay.

Pros:
Price - can’t beat the price and was very reasonable for the month. Large master bedroom upstairs is very big, plenty of room and closet space and sitting area. Other bedroom was nice too. WiFi was great and TV app too. Barbecue grill. Kitchen was small but had everything we needed. Washer/dryer and dog friendly. Local VACASA was very helpful/quick and responsive when we asked questions and needed something.
Quiet neighborhood and good location. Very open Meadow in back yard is nice but also see con on it. We did see a bear!
Cons:
Meadow was very over watered, especially the first half of July, which made it soggy and mosquitoes were horrible. Being from Texas, we are used to them, but they were extremely bad at this location. We could not go outside w/o spray. It did get better towards the end of July. Master bed is 2 twins put together which isn’t horrible but one side slipped off the rails several times - hopefully they will adjust the bed. It does get hot upstairs on warm days, they do supply fan that helps. 2nd bedroom has a smaller bed and would be tight for 2. Be aware, there is no beach access with this property as advertise (hopefully that has been removed on description).
Overall - good place for 2-4 people, price for the month was spot on and worth it.

I honestly thought this unit might be a little too dated b/c the appliances look older but I was completely wrong. This unit is well appointed, we had literally everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. Of course, we are no chefs, but we lacked for nothing. The location was phenomenal, literally no more than 15min away from anything in South Lake Tahoe. The place was spotless! Yes the carpets are not brand new, but they still have a lot of life left in them and IMO they were clean. And, I loved the eco-friendly toiletries! Additionally this unit is pet friendly and they even had a doggy bowl for our furr-baby.
I saw another reviewer complain about the king size bed, that was not a problem for us at all. The wifi was also excellent, even during a very heavy winter storm - we both worked from home and we were both able to take zoom calls simultaneously, in case you are wondering how 'good' the wifi was.
Also, the Vacasa team was super responsive with the one little issue we had.

All in all we had a fantastic time and I'd absolutely recommend Sky Meadows Charmer to anyone.
