Overview

Mermaid is perfect for a small family or a couple's vacation. This home has been carefully planned for comfort and enjoyment! You will love spending time in this beautiful coastal home. When you step into the home you will find that the living and dining room, as well as the kitchen, are all open to each other making it perfect to watch your children play or having an easy conversation with friends. In the living room there is a sleeper sofa, a child's size table, lots of toys and games, along with a TV/DVD/VCR entertainment center and stereo clock.

There are two bedrooms in this home and both have a large bed. The main bedroom has a sliding glass door to the back patio and yard which is complete with picnic table and lawn chairs. There is a myriad of books and travel guides, along with a fabulous binder, chocked full of information about local places to visit and enjoy. There is even an array of cookbooks for your cooking delight.

This gem is centrally located being just three blocks to downtown, three blocks to the great Manzanita city park, and only three houses from the beach, allowing you to listen to the cresting waves as you relax and refresh. The Mermaid house is so loved for its tasteful simplicity and homey atmosphere that many visitors return to stay here year after year.

Great communication with clear instructions on check in / check out. Home was in a perfect location, only about a block from the beach and a couple of blocks from the shops and restaurants in Manzanita. Very comfy beds. Tiny bathroom with no counter space, but clean and well stocked. Living room furniture is not super comfy, but adequate, and you don't spend much time there anyway, you are out and about! Nice back deck with a long bench and outdoor shower for washing off sand before you come into the house. Picnic table in backyard. Kitchen pretty well stocked (we found crab crackers!). Would recommend this home for sure.

Ditto previous visitor's comment re beds: not comfortable—but the sheets were cotton, which is always a plus. Otherwise this is a cute beach house renovated in the past 20 years. Small but cozy. The main appeal is the location—it's a half block from the beach and two and a half blocks from Laneda, Manzanita's main street. Location works for a family of four or two couples. Six adults could also do it, but it would be tight. The couch does fold out into a bed.

Oh, and we also appreciated the outdoor shower.

It’s a nice house, small but functional. The management company feels a bit commercial and impersonal. Close into town with things to do, one block away from the beach.

Place was in a nice neighborhood, quiet and friendly, close to the main street with shops and a range of places to eat.
A lot of dishes and cooking pans. A lot of towels, perfectly working shower. I was pleased to see that concerns expressed by people in the past were fixed. The washer and dryer worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable.
